I departed from my house in Kai city, Yamanashi for the 観音平 parking area. It took about one hour to reach the parking. Because I had a little late start much of the parking area was already full but I was able to get one of the last spots along the street.

注意箇所・注意点	While there was still some snow left over from late spring, no extra gear was needed other than weather proof boots on some parts of the decent.
その他	While I didn't want to use my socks (i.e. poles) on this trip because I am trying to build up my leg muscles, I ended up using them for much of the hike back down from 青年小屋. I was happy that I used them because some of the rocks are pretty large and I was able to speed up without coming down on my knees too hard.
