Though there was a little bit of ice in some areas, I don't think chain spikes or crampons are necessary. |

There is an amazing amount of climbing walls in the area. We saw many people in the parking area bringing crash pads for bouldering.
The route has a quite a few wooden bridges (though we did have to cross the river a few times over rocks).
One of the reasons this route is so nice is the sound of the rushing river all around you.
It was pretty hard to get a good picture of how beautiful this waterfall is. I'm sad that this course isn't as popular because I think the waterfall is worth seeing!

My wife gave me homemade granola bars for our hike. Oats, white & dark chocolate, and nuts. Delicious!

The ropes were a nice change of pace for the climb. I love the variety.

A ladder for the final push to the top. Thankfully it wasn't too busy today so there was no wait to use the it.
I love mountain climbing on hot days because it is always cool at the summit. Mt. Fuji in the background saying, "Hello."

It has been two years since I last climbed 瑞牆山. Happy to get another look from the peak.

The rock formations are so cool in this area. We had visibility all the way to the south alps.

Made it to the camp that services both 金峰山, 瑞牆山, and a few other surrounding peaks.
感想
Hello GW! It was great to get out for a climb. My friend and I had been wanting to climb together for a long time but our schedules never lined up. Thankfully we had great weather for the climb today.
We left the Kofu area at about 6:30am and headed to Hokuto stopping at 7-11 for food and snacks. Jack ate a conbini cheeseburger that didn't sit too well with him during the hike :(
We arrived at the parking area in good time and there were plenty of spaces in the parking area.
We were both surprised how few people there were on the course that we took. It really was a beautiful climb on the way up: rivers, rocks, boulders, forest, chains, and ladders.
We took a short break to enjoy the waterfall and once we reached the top we took a nice lunch break. Once we reached the top there were about 40 other people enjoying the view and eating lunch.
On our descent we tried to take a western course that was visible on the ヤマレコ map but was roped of when we arrived. I'm not sure if the course is permanently closed or maybe there was a rock slide that damaged the trail.
We made the climb down quite quickly so the extra time it took to walk the long way around to the south didn't really seem to add to much extra time.
During our climb we tried to speak Japanese to each other. Every time we startd making jokes or speaking loudly, a hiker would pass by very quietly. I hope that we weren't too noisy!
