Detour on the normal route to the left so you gotta go to the right.
Somewhere around here there was a shortcut trail up that cliffside but I missed it somehow. Walked all the way to the junction then back. Not bad at places but because of this detour I lost an hour or so. Wasn't able to make it to Arashiyama Station like I planned.

Here's the landslide where I then went back along the ridge lline to reconnect to the main trail.

This part of the trail was pretty cool with some nice stream crossings. It was pretty tough at the end. So many bugs!

Make sure to secure the door here with the rope.
Nice break from trail walking for some road walking. Saw some people here. Didn't see any other people on the trail after that.

Here's the info on the trail closure: From 25 Sep till 10 Nov this section of the trail is closed for MUSHROOM FARMING! Haha. Anyhow there's an alternative route on some roads.

Another closure due to trail damage. Not sure if this was fresh damage from the rains or from the big typhoon last year.

Then don't mind those cones. You need to walk on that road.
Nice sign saying please enjoy the trail but this is private land and don't walk off the trail. Mushroom farming?

Cool section of the trail here in this gully.
And back on a logging road till Takao.
River swimming is recommended and was done. In my clothing. そのまま。My clothes were already SOAKED with sweat. Why not rinse them and me off in the nice river here.

Cool trail conditions along the river here.
Post #94. The end of this section! Yay!
Post #1. The start of the last section. I was hoping to get to Arashyama from here but all the detours ate into the time and I was pretty shot. Will continue from here and the short last section of the Kyoto Loop soon.
