We were worried the heavy rain would make the bridges uncrossable. This bigger bridge though was no problem.

You can get a sense of just how raging the river was.
This river was high but not too dangerous to cross.
Made of the bridges looked just like this wooden one here. Fairly safe but the probably can't survive more than a season or two

This spot was probably the most dangerous of the rivers we crossed. The water level was so high that we had to take a few larger jumps to avoid the rapids.

The rope was very helpful in crossing this larger wooden bridge. There were three of us so one person could hold the rope up while the others crossed.

This bridge was broken! But, we had to cross so we did it very slowly and carefully.

We made it to the ridge line! The yellow tower to the left marks the descending trail which, unfortunately was where a young climber lost his life in the winter time unable to find his way down.

The view in the 甲府 basin was blocked by the clouds but we get a view of 農鳥岳.

The ridge was both cloudy and beauitful
It was quite a warm day so the clouded seemed to appear from the forest below.

Made it to 農鳥岳. One of the three Shirane Sanzan （白峰三山). It was a hard climb but it was quiet and beautiful.

A good place for us to take a break.

農鳥小屋 is just between these the two peaks; 西農鳥岳 and 間ノ岳. Looks like a good place to spend the night.

西農鳥岳 is actually higher than 農鳥岳.
We are pretty tired and ready to get some rest down at the mountain hut.

Only about 20 more minutes to our goal for day one!
Breakfast was served at 4:00am. We finally got a view of Mt. Fuji from the ridge but it only lasted for 30 minutes.

Sunrise from 農鳥小屋. I don't know if I'll ever return, but I would love to stay there again. The owner was one-of-a-kind!

This morning my body didn't want to move! I had to really force myself to keep pace with my friends.

Made it to the third highest peak in Japan, 間ノ岳！It was VERY windy and a little cold. There were already 50 people on the peak at 6am!

A quick break in the clouds revealed the steep drop off. The Kofu basin was covered in clouds all day.

A bonus peak on the way to Kita Dake.
北岳山荘. The mountain hut was more of a villa/hotel than a hut. While it was very nice inside, 農鳥小屋 was a much more authentic Japanese experience.

We stopped, I dumped about 1 liter of water to lighten my bag before the final push to Kita dake.

You can BARELY see Mt. Fuji through the clouds.
Made it! All three of the Shirane San Zan completed as well as the 2nd highest mountain in Japan!

The sea of clouds （雲海）was beautiful.
You can see 仙丈ヶ岳 (senjogatake) on the left. I'm looking forward to climbing soon :)

This is a quick picture of the most technical part of the descent. It's not super hard but you have to wait for people to go up and down, one-by-one.

Quite beautiful to see how the river peeks through snow.
The crystal clear water crossing under one of the last bridges. We had to follow this river down which meant lots of wet stones and streams.

感想
The pace was faster than normal for me. I had been training by running almost every day for several months. The training helped a lot but my friends were much stronger during the ascent than I was. I'll need to do more training running uphill if I want to increase my ascent speed. The descent was VERY enjoyable. We went very fast but it was beautiful and never too difficult.

Thank you for your interesting post.
I went there on same day.But My route was the opposite of yours.We might have passed each other somewhere on Aug.10.Anyway you are great to climb the steep of Daimonsawa in short time and brave to cross overflowing rivers.

I'm sure that we passed by each other sometime during our climbs. I don't think there
were too many foreign people climbing so, if you saw one....it was probably me
You are right about the rivers around Diamonsawa, they were pretty dangerous and I was a little nervous crossing the one that had no bridge. I did get a little bit of water in my boots from the river but it was a fun adventure. I thought my pace wasn't very fast compared to my friends but I was happy to finish!
